Halloween: Decor

Chinese Lanterns

I know Halloween's a week or so away, but who else is excited for the Holiday?!

Handily, I have this Chinese Lantern plant in my back garden. Cut fresh the leaves are green, which contrast fabulously with the rich orange colour of the Chinese Lanterns. But once dried, the leaves turn to a crisp brown hue, creating the perfect 'wire-y' look for Halloween. Placed in a cauldron like vase, they make a brilliant, yet sophisticated, touch to the season.

Autumnal Reads: The Larsson Trilogy

This series, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, will have you totally transfixed within its pages. Add in a warm blanket and luxurious hot chocolate to the mix, and you won't want to close the book for hours on end.

Wednesday's Words

I was on a friend's tumblr earlier when I came across this photo. It made me chuckle as it's quite reminiscent of me today, I've been huddled in cosy blankets, whilst on my trusty blue laptop (not quite a mac but a well loved acer), doing some uni research. I've managed to pick four Universities so far, but choosing my last option is a toughie! (Dearest UCAS, can we please have one more option?!)

Home Grown, Home Cooked

Freshly baked apple & blackcurrant pie.
When it's raining, cold and windy, there is little that tastes as good as a slice of warm freshly made apple pie, with a side dollop of vanilla ice cream of course.

{Freshly picked apples from the garden. So cute!}
{Prep.}
{An archaic rolling pin, flour and my Mum's delicious home made pastry; kitchen love.}
